What has happened?
Today SciDev announced that Trevor Jones is resigning as Chairman of the Company after 13 years on the Board of Directors. Trevor’s resignation forms part of the Company’s ongoing Board rejuvenation process, which includes the recent appointment of independent non-executive director Dan O’Toole.
Mr Jones was appointed as a Non-executive Director of SciDev on 28 February 2007 and became Chairman on 1 January 2008. Mr Jones left a comment regarding his resignation:
“After 13 years as Chairman of the Company and seeing the strong growth, profitability and shareholder support that SciDev has generated over recent years, the time was right for me to step aside. The group is in a strong financial position with significant opportunities ahead. I will continue in my role as Chairman while the company conducts a thorough search for a new candidate to ensure a smooth transition. I would like to thank all of the SciDev staff and shareholders over the years for your valuable input and I wish you all the best.”
Trevor announced his intention to retire on the 30th of June 2021, or earlier should a suitable candidate be found. SciDev has engaged in a process to search for an experienced Chair.
